Tadalafil - for Erectile Dysfunction
What is Tadalafil?
The chemical compound of Tadalafil is a PDE5 inhibitor. Designed as a medical treatment for Erectile Dysfunction. It is the active compound in leading ED medicines. These include Apcalis, Tadalis and Tadalis. It is the second most common ED medication in use today. 
Clinical testing between 1994 and 2002 showed that the medication was an effective treatment for ED. It also proved that the drug was affective for up to 36 hours. Hence, this long-lasting effect is the origin of the name "the weekender". The drug helps to achieve and maintain an erection for longer periods through increased blood flow.
Ajanta Pharma and Cipla make variations of the medication. These are either in tablet form or an oral jelly. Typically containing 20mg of the chemical compound.
How does Tadalafil work?
During sexual stimulation, the body releases key proteins causing blood vessels in the penis to relax. This results in more blood flow to the penis and an erection. Over time, the body releases further proteins to constrict blood vessels and reduce blood flow.
This medicine restricts creation of the PDE5 enzyme. So, blood vessels stay relaxed and dilated. This leads to an increase in the amount of blood flowing through the penis. Resulting in a maintained erection.

How long do the effects of Tadalafil last?
The effects of the drug will be strongest within an hour of ingestion.
It has a half-life of over 17 hours so effects will wear off over that period such that the effects half after about 17 hours following ingestion.
The ability for the remedy to remain effective for long periods makes this a more female-friendly ED medication. Because there is a longer window of effect that other ED medications. This allows a couple to relax and enjoy the setting. Rather than needing to copulate within a few hours.
Since men require sexual arousal to achieve an erection and the chemical is effective for long periods, men can take the drug well in advance of intercourse.
